Now your customers in Belgium and the Netherlands can pay with Bancontact
We have recently partnered with Bancontact, a Belgian market leader in electronic payment services. With G2A PAY, you can now quickly and easily accept payments through this payment method.
What is Bancontact?
Since its inception in 1989, Bancontact has provided smooth payment processing. The company implemented an omnichannel strategy that is unique for Belgium, enabling its customers to pay in physical stores, at webshops and via mobile apps.
Bancontact’s online payment scheme can be used by all customers with a Bancontact-branded payment card. More than 20 Belgian banks issue Bancontact branded cards, including ABK Bank, Argenta, AXA Bank, BNP Paribas Fortis, bpost bank, Deutsche Bank, Hello Bank, ING België and KBC Bank. Bancontact has over 15 million cardholders and customers can pay with this payment method in more than 80% of Belgian web stores.
In March 2018, a merger between Bancontact Company and Payconiq Belgium was announced. Bancontact Payconiq Company is set to introduce innovative products for both domestic and European payments.
The Belgian eCommerce market is on the rise
The Belgian eCommerce space is expanding considerably. Total eCommerce revenue across all product categories are expected to reach USD 7.1 billion by 2021, up from USD 4.9 billion in 2016. Also, research conducted by GfK indicates that omnichannel shopping – combining online and offline touchpoints – is a growing trend in the country, at the expense of traditional, exclusively offline shopping.
